Bally Bet Online Sportsbook Review & Promo Code
Bally Bet is a great new addition to the online sports betting marketplace. With the iconic Bally brand recognizable to bettors and, more importantly, the impressive technology of Bet.Works (also owned by Bally’s) powering the site, we have every reason to believe Bally Bet will be a success. Bally Bet officially hit the U.S. market in May 2021, beginning in Colorado. Aggressive expansion is in the plans with additional states primed to follow.
Now a part of Twin River Worlwide Holdings, Bally’s is once again ready for U.S. growth. The Bally Bet product exceeds expectations with an excellent website, app, and solid promotions. We’ll recap it all for you below.
Where you can Bally Bet
Bally Bet is the latest sportsbook to begin its American journey, launching first in Colorado, a state known for its innovative regulatory structure. It has been common for new books to start in the Centennial State. Colorado officials work closely with sportsbooks to ensure a seamless entry into the state and are known to approve almost any new type of bet brought to them. It’s a great proving ground to work out any kinks and establish brand recognition while they map out a strategy to overtake DraftKings or FanDuel.
Betway, MaximBet, Circa Sports, Superbook, and more have all started out in Colorado, which has almost 20 operators competing for the attention of Broncos and Avalanche fans. With its three casinos in Black Hawk, horse track in Aurora, and 13 OTB licenses, Bally’s actually has an established presence and a trove of data about its Colorado customers. These properties and an in-depth knowledge of the state’s gaming market gives Bally’s a significant advantage over most of the other operators in the state.
Bally’s has a partnership with Elite Casino Resorts, which owns three casinos in the state along with Elite Sportsbook, a niche sportsbook available in Iowa and Colorado. Elite Sportsbook uses Bet.Works to power its platform, which is owned by Bally’s. Bally’s publicly foreshadowed its intention to bring Bally Bet to the Hawkeye State, launching on June 29th, 2021.
|State||Casino Partner||Launch Date|
|Colorado||Mardi Gras, Golden Gates, Golden Gulch||May 24, 2021|
|Iowa||Elite Casino Resorts||June 29, 2021|
|Illinois||Jumer's Casino and Hotel||TBA|
|Nevada||Tropicana Las Vegas||TBA
|New Jersey||Bally's Atlantic City||TBA|
|Pennsylvania||Unnamed casino under construction in State College||TBA|
Where next for Bally Bet?
It is no real surprise that Bally Bet started in Colorado. But where will the sportsbook go live next? It stands to reason that the next states will be where the company has an existing presence. That, and Bally’s also stated on its website where it plans on bringing Bally Bet… so we had some help. Here they are:
Bally’s is purchasing Tropicana Evansville and will own the large Indiana casino sometime in mid-2021. The Tropicana is currently using William Hill as its online skin. Bally’s purchase is potentially good timing because William Hill is expected to be phased out by fall 2021. Therefore, Bally Bet, in theory, could replace William Hill as the online skin for the Tropicana by the end of 2021. This is the most likely outcome because Bally’s is not in the state and will need a casino partner.
Similar to Bally’s Indiana expansion, the company is purchasing an existing casino in Illinois as its entrance into the state. Jumer’s Casino and Hotel in Rock Island, IL is set to become the newest Bally’s property sometime in mid-2021. In a happy coincidence, Jumer’s doesn’t currently have an online skin and Bally’s isn’t currently live in the state. We expect Bally Bet to expand to the Land of Lincoln by the end of 2021 or early 2022.
Bally’s owns Eldorado Shreveport and will almost certainly have a sports betting license when sports betting goes live in the state. Bally Sports New Orleans is the name of the New Orleans regional sports channel. It is a sure bet that Bally Bet will be in Louisiana.
Bally’s is in the process of acquiring the Tropicana Las Vegas, but it still does not own Bally’s Las Vegas. Once Bally’s owns the Tropicana, it seems reasonable to assume that they will bring Bally Bet to the Silver State. This may not happen in the near term, but a 2022 launch is not out of the question.
Bally’s owns the Bally’s Atlantic City casino, which doesn’t have a current online sportsbook partner. However, the casino does have a FanDuel-branded retail sportsbook. No word on whether that partnership will continue, but it seems likely that Bally’s will use its online sportsbook license to bring Bally Bet to New Jersey sometime in the near future.
What we know: Bally Bet will eventually be live in Pennsylvania. What we don’t know: Pretty much everything else. Bally’s is in the process of constructing a new mini-casino in State College, which will include a sportsbook. It should be done sometime in 2022. Because online sportsbooks can only operate by partnering with an existing casino (no online-only licenses), Bally’s will likely wait until its retail casino is finished before bringing Bally Bet to the state.
Virginia legalized sports betting in 2020. Casinos were also approved by referendum, and several are coming to the state, but they’re a ways off. All the sportsbooks in the state are online-only for now. Bally’s applied for a betting license and was approved on March 15, 2021, which means that Bally Bet is coming to Virginia.
How to sign up with Bally Bet
Signing up for a Bally Bet account is quick and easy. You could download the app and sign up for an account in the time it takes you to make a peanut butter sandwich. After signing up, you can make a deposit and bet on the the NHL Stanley Cup, or whatever your heart desires. Here are the steps required to sign up for an account:
- First, create your profile. This includes a username, password, and email address.
- Once you have created your profile, you need to add some personal information, including your legal name, birthdate, cell phone number and the last 4 digits of your social security number. Be sure your name matches what is on your drivers license. For example, if you normally go by Ted but your real name is Theodore, you need to put down Theodore, even if the only person who calls you Theodore is your partner when they are mad at you. Bally Bet needs this information to confirm your identity to ensure you are of legal betting age. Don’t worry, Bally Bet uses industry-leading security, so your information is safe.
- Your address comes next. Again, be sure this address matches what is listed on your bank account. All this information will need to match up to ensure Bally Bet can confirm your identity so you can sign up for an account.
- After that, you just have to create two security questions, acknowledge you understand the terms and conditions, and confirm that you are at least 21 years old. That’s it!
Bally Bet welcome offer
Bally Bet needed to start out with a strong new customer promotion to compete with other, established sportsbooks. Did they succeed? In a word: Yes. All new customers are eligible for a $550 risk-free bet, which is a bigger offer than most other sportsbooks. No Bally Bet promo code is required. Let’s go over the details now.
- Once you sign up for an account, you are ready to make a deposit. If you plan on taking advantage of the risk-free bet offer, and, let’s be honest, you really should, consider making a deposit of up to or more than $550. For example, if you make a $550 deposit and use it for your first bet, all $550 of it is eligible for the risk-free bet.
- After making a deposit, you are ready for your first bet. Remember that if you make several bets at once, as many people do on big sports days, only the first one is eligible for this promotion.
- Time to make your bet. Let’s say you decide to make an NBA bet on the Brooklyn Nets. With Bally Bet, you have more options than other sportsbooks. You can bet on the Nets to win their next game, but you could even take them to win the title as long as they are still below +300, the maximum payout odds allowed for the risk-free promotion. This risk-free bet must be graded no later than 24 hours after the promotion expiration date, currently set for Aug. 31, 2021. Other sportsbooks have a much shorter window to make a risk-free bet.
- Using the Nets example, let’s say you decided not to lock up your money and took them -4 for $200 over the Bucks. If they win by 6, great for you! You can continue on after your first big win. If they end up losing, no worries, you’re covered. Within 24 hours after the wager is graded, $200 will appear in your account as a Free Bet credit. You can use that credit to wager on whatever you like, but it has to be in the form of a straight wager, teaser, or a parlay. And you have to use the entire credit within 7 days or it will expire. Still, it’s free! Pretty good deal.
- Here are a few more things to consider when making your first bet:
- The risk-free bet is online only
- Only the winnings of the risk-free wager will be credited to your account and available for withdrawal. The risk-free amount does not count. So if you bet your $200 risk-free bet credit and it won, you can collect the winnings but not the $200 credit.
- Valid through August 31, 2021. First bet must be graded, or settled, before September 1, 2021.
A majority of sportsbooks don’t have a loyalty program at all. They offer promotions and competitive lines and call it a day. This makes sense because sports bettors don’t always need extra incentive to bet on sports. But not having a loyalty program may make bettors more likely to shop around and use multiple sportsbooks, thereby reducing brand loyalty. Not the case with Bally Bet. The sportsbook has not one but two loyalty programs: Trophy Case and the popular Bally Rewards program. Bally Rewards has long been offered at Bally-owned casinos and now makes its way to the sportsbook. It is flashy and looks great, but the payout can be small. Still, a small payout is better than no payout at all. Let’s go over both programs:
The Trophy Case is a very creative program designed to reward prolific Bally Bet bettors (Bally Bettors?). It features three ways to earn “trophies,” including betting on 10 specific sports, placing certain types of bets such as straight bets and parlays, and winning certain bet types like a multi-leg parlay or a long-odds bet. These trophies come with catchy names, including Underdog Whisperer, Parlay Pro, Gridiron Great, and Lamp Lighter. The Trophy Case is pretty much a marketing ploy, but it does include free credit for meeting certain requirements. After winning 10 bets on a featured sport, you get a $10 credit. 20 winning bets = $20 and 30 winning bets = $30. If you’re going to be making bets on your favorite sports anyway, this is a nice added bonus.
Almost every casino has a loyalty program, and it is becoming more common for the large casino brands like Caesars to integrate rewards into their sports betting platforms. For sports betting, the rewards structure is pretty simple. For every $1 bet, you get a certain number of rewards points. The number of points varies depending on the type of bet. A $1 straight bet gets you 2 points, a $1 teaser bet gets you 4 points, and each leg of a parlay bet earns you one point. So a $1 10-leg parlay that has .1% chance of winning gets you 10 rewards points. This seems pretty solid, until you learn that 2,000 rewards points gets you just $1 in free credit. So you have to bet $1,000 in straight bets to earn a buck in credit. Not a very good deal. This appears to be a case of flashy marketing covering up a weak rewards program.
Red Card Treatment
Yes, there is even a third rewards program, but it is shrouded in secrecy. Bally Bet does not say what is included in its VIP program, but if you have VIP status at another casino or sportsbook, it would definitely be worth your time to email Bally Bet to inquire about their “Red Card Treatment.”
Bally Bet desktop browser review
Using the terms “clean” and “simple” to describe a sportsbook website is a term of endearment. It’s a good thing to be clean and uncluttered. Bally Bet’s website is a master class in decluttering. The colors are bright, the page is spaced out well, and the information you need is there while superfluous information you don’t need is absent. And if you like prop bets, Bally Bet is the sportsbook for you. During testing, NBA games had 80 or more bets available, and every game in every sport had many choices.
The variety of sports available is extensive but not quite as prolific as DraftKings or FanDuel, particularly in Colorado, where every sport is potentially available. Still, all the major sports are offered, and even some lesser-known sports like bull riding and college baseball. Your bet ticket is prominently displayed on the right side of the screen, and individual bets can easily be combined into teasers and parlays with a few clicks.
The live betting feature is adequate, but it does not feature real-time information on each play that can be found on other sportsbooks. Scores are updated using official league data, and lines are continually updated. During testing, the prices and markets were quite different than DraftKings, with only a few live-betting options available for an MLB day game compared to the dozens of markets on DraftKings. Prices varied, but were consistently better, particularly if you wanted to take the underdog.
Overall, Bally Bet’s platform, developed by Bet.Works, gives bettors a great experience and offers competitive prices. Bally Bet is a worthy entrant into the crowded sports betting marketplace.
Bally Bet app review
The Bally Bet app is easy to find in the App Store and provides a solid user experience. Once you log in and allow the app to use your location, you are ready to start wagering. Live games are featured first along with the promotions prominently displayed on a rotating banner ad. All the sports are easily accessible at the top of the screen, and all the upcoming games can be found by scrolling down the page. Once you find a bet you want to make, just tap the button and your bets appear on the bet ticket tab at the bottom of the screen.
Similar to the browser version, multiple straight bets can easily be turned into a parlay or teaser with the potential payout amount immediately displayed, a nice option for those who enjoy those sorts of bets. The app version of Bally Bet is solid, with the only drawback being the lack of in-game options and a generally lacking in-game betting user experience. If you prefer to make pre-game wagers and want exotic betting options like player props, you will like Bally Bet.

About Bally Bet
The Bally Corporation has been around in some form for about 90 years. It started as a pinball machine manufacturing company and grew to create and distribute slot machines, vending machines, and even electric razors. The company took many different turns before getting into online sports betting, even buying a theme park company (Six Flags) and health club business. Remember Bally Total Fitness? Casinos have always been at the core of Bally’s, and Bally’s Las Vegas and Bally’s Atlantic City remain iconic casinos in their respective cities.
Until 2020, Bally’s was just another property owned by Caesars Entertainment, its long-time location on the Las Vegas strip untouched by unyielding development. As Caesars grew and merged with other companies, it decided to shed some of its properties. In 2020, Caesars sold the Bally’s brand to Twin River Worldwide Holdings, a Rhode Island-based company that had a few existing casinos, but no marquee brand. They had cash to spend and jumped at the opportunity to rebrand using the Bally’s name. Notably, the sale did not include Bally’s Las Vegas, which remains a Caesars property. Yes, Bally’s does not own Bally’s Las Vegas. Very strange.
Bally’s Corp. owns Bally’s Atlantic City, the Tropicana in Las Vegas, and over a dozen additional properties in 13 states. The company is making big moves and seems to be doing quite well, based on its healthy balance sheet and rising stock price. The time seems right to introduce Bally Bet to the country.
