To celebrate the New Year, Ohioans can legally wager on sports via both retail and mobile betting! Barstool Sportsbook has made a name for itself as one of the premier sportsbooks in the U.S. and will look to do the same in Buckeye State.

Barstool is extending a special two-part offer for new Ohio sign-ups: you can claim a Bet $1, Get $100 in Bet Credits welcome offer to start when you register using the promo code SHNEWSOH.

Once you’ve completed that part of your welcome offer, you can activate a First Bet Insurance opportunity worth up to $1,000!

If you still need to create an account on Barstool, are 21 years old or older, and are located in Ohio, this is a no-brainer. To break in your Barstool betting experience, you can wager on a big-time NBA matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat over on ESPN.

Barstool Ohio Two-Part Welcome Offer Explained

To activate your two-part welcome bonus, click on the promo code SHNEWSOH to get started. Once you use the promo code SHNEWSOH, you will be in line to receive your lucrative welcome offer.

For the first part of the bonus: Bet $1, Get $100 in Bet Credits is as straightforward as it gets. All you need to do is place a $1 cash bet on any Barstool market. Whether the bet wins or not does not matter; once the bet has settled, Barstool will load up your account with $100 in bet credits.

And there’s more. Once you place your second cash bet, you will enact the site’s $1,000 First Bet Insurance offer. Bet anywhere from $10 to $1,000, and if your bet is not a winner, Barstool will issue you a 100% refund in the form of bet credits.

Your bet credits will only expire if your account is inactive for 30 consecutive days, so as long as you are wagering your bet credits, you should be good to go. This is a can’t-miss offer that every new Ohio sports bettor should check out.

Heat at Lakers game info and betting preview

  • Date: Wednesday, January 4, 2023
  • Start time: 10:00 PM ET
  • Channel: ESPN
  • Location: crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, California
  • Participants: Miami Heat (20-18) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (16-21)
  • Barstool Sportsbook Ohio Odds: Miami -8.5, O/U 229.5

Two of the NBA’s most disappointing teams will face off tonight on ESPN.

Although neither team has met expectations, both teams have shown signs of life recently. The Heat have won four of their last five games, including wins on the road over the Clippers and Jazz. After this recent streak, the Heat have climbed up to the seven-seed in the Eastern Conference and are just four games back of the Cavaliers for the four-seed.

On the other side, the Lakers are winners in three of their last four and are 1.5 games back of the Utah Jazz for the 10-seed in the West. The Lakers missed the play-in tournament in their previous season but are looking to build on their recent momentum to change that.

With Anthony Davis out for an extended period of time, head coach Darvin Ham has leaned on LeBron James to carry the load, and he’s done so at an exceptional level. James scored 47 and 43 in his last two games while logging 40 minutes in each contest. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, James will miss tonight’s game due to a non-COVID illness.
