Buffalo Bills @ Detroit Lions
- Date: Thursday, November 24th, 2022
- Start Time: 12:30 pm ET
- Channel: CBS
- Location: Ford Field, Detroit, Michigan
- Participants: Buffalo Bills (7-3) vs. Detroit Lions (4-6)
- Barstool Sportsbook Odds: Bills -9.5, O/U 54
We lead off with a Thanksgiving tradition – the Lions will once again play host on Turkey Day as they try to pull off a huge upset against the Buffalo Bills.
On the Barstool Sportsbook, the Bills are currently tied with the Chiefs as the betting odds favorite to hoist the Lombardi at +450. Interestingly enough, the Lions’ homefield advantage may be somewhat negated as the Bills had to play at Ford Field four days before while Buffalo was experiencing a severe snowstorm.
Each team is coming off a decisive win – and fans should expect plenty of points in this one. The point total is currently the highest for the entire Week 12 slate, and each offense could exploit the opposing defense where they are weakest.
For Detroit, they have one of the leagueβs best offensive lines and more potent ground attacks. Buffalo has shown signs of vulnerability as a run defense, but they did hold Nick Chubb to just 19 rushing yards in last weekβs winning effort.
On the other side, the Bills’ passing attack will go against a defense that allows 28.2 points per game, good for dead last in the NFL. The Lionsβ defense has shown signs of life during their ongoing 3-game win streak, but the secondary is still very spotty.
New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys
- Date: Thursday, November 24th, 2022
- Start Time: 4:30 pm ET
- Channel: FOX
- Location: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
- Participants: New York Giants (7-3) vs. Dallas Cowboys (7-3)
- Barstool Sportsbook Odds: Cowboys -9, O/U 45
For the second game on Thanksgiving, weβll have a showdown between two playoff contenders in the NFC East. The Cowboys are riding high after beating down the 8-2 Vikings, 40-3. The Giants are coming off a 31-18 disappointing home loss to the Lions.
Despite having the same record, this is a rather substantial spread. Part of the reason is the injury bug. The Giants have a laundry list of injuries heading into this one – 2nd round pick WanβDale Robinson had played the best game of his young career on Sunday but suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season. Starting cornerback Adoreeβ Jackson, center Jon Feliciano, and offensive tackle Tyre Phillips also left the game Sunday with injuries.
On the other side, everything seems to be coming together for Dallas. Since Dak Prescottβs return, Dallasβs offense has averaged 36 points per game while the defense continues to play at an elite level. This is a team with championship aspirations that is among the contenders to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
New England Patriots @ Minnesota Vikings
- Date: Thursday, November 24th, 2022
- Start Time: 8:20 pm ET
- Channel: NBC
- Location: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Participants: New England Patriots (6-4) vs. Minnesota Vikings (8-2)
- Barstool Sportsbook Odds: Vikings -2.5, O/U 42.5
For the nightcap, we travel to Minnesota, where the Vikings will try to bounce back from an embarrassing 40-3 defeat at the hands of the Cowboys. New England will try to extend its winning streak to four games after beating the Jets twice and the Colts in the last month.
Despite posting an 8-2 record, the Vikings currently boast a -2 point differential after last weekβs loss. The Vikings also boast an impressive 7-0 record in one-score games. Unfortunately, left tackle Christian Darrisaw has already been ruled out for todayβs game. The 2021 first-round pick was amid a breakout season, establishing himself as one of the leagueβs best tackles. But without him, the Vikes allowed a season-high seven sacks against the Cowboys.
