The 2023 Preakness Stakes will take place on Saturday, May 20 with a 7:01 p.m. ET post time at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. The Preakness Stakes is the second leg of the Triple Crown and the shortest race of the three.

Below we’ll cover five Preakness Stakes sites and promos you can use before the races get underway Saturday. Our preferred horse racing platform is TwinSpires, which is available in 39 states. New users can get up to $400 in bonus bets with TwinSpires offer code HANDLERACING. If you’ve already signed up, DRF Bets and FanDuel Racing are also in close to states — we’ve covered their sign-up offers below.

Mage, the Kentucky Derby longshot winner, is the current Preakness favorite at 8-5 and looks to continue the quest for the Triple Crown. Very few horses have won the Triple Crown, winning all three races consecutively, the last two being Justify in 2018 and American Pharaoh in 2015. Prior to that, Affirmed in 1978 was the last one.

3. FanDuel Racing

Racing

FanDuel offers new and current customers the chance to place a win bet on a single horse in the Preakness Stakes and get up to $20 back in a racing bonus if the wager misses. It must be placed on the Preakness, not a race earlier in the day. The racing bonus deposits to you within 24 hours and must be used before June 12.

Here’s how to place your $20 No Sweat First Bet on any horse in the Preakness Stakes:

  1. First, head to the FanDuel Racing promotion.
  2. If you already have a FanDuel racing account, place a win bet on any single horse to win the Preakness outright.
  3. If you are new to FanDuel racing, create the account first with no promo code necessary and place your wager.

In most legal sports betting states, with New Jersey as one of the exceptions, you can bet in the same app as the FanDuel Sportsbook.

All you need to get started is a new account, a minimum $10 deposit and a real-money wager on any market or odds. If you earn bonus bets, FanDuel will deposit the bonus directly to you within 72 hours and the bonus bets are valid for 14 days upon receipt.

4. DraftKings

DraftKings offers a horse racing platform for new customers called DK Horse. New bettors have access to a 100 percent deposit bonus up to $250 for a wager on the Preakness Stakes. It’s in fewer states than the first three platforms.

In order to access the offer, you must make a minimum $25 deposit and the bonus is earned with 2x play-through. This means that $25 in cash bonus is earned for every $50 wagered up to a maximum $250 bonus for $500 in total bets wagered.

5. TVG

TVG, a popular platform for horse race betting and streaming, is now owned under FanDuel. TVG offers customers a chance to win even in a second or third-place finish in the Preakness Stakes. TVG will refund a first-win bet that finishes second or third up to $10 per race.

All you need to do to get started is select the opt-in and place a win bet on a single horse in an eligible race to qualify. For the third-place finish there must be at least eight betting interests and for the second-place finish six or more betting interests. If you earn the refund for a second or third place finish, TVG pays out promotions within two hours of settlements.
