As a change of pace from legal sports betting legislation and because we’re about sports betting culture, too, SportsHandle is presenting a 15-part series on The Best Sports Betting Scenes in Television and Movies. Here’s the latest installment.
Herschel Shmoikel Pinchas Yerucham Krustofsky, aka Krusty the Clown, has taken a lot of abuse in Springfield, inflicting much of it upon himself. Krusty is addicted to a variety of things, including smoking, alcohol, Percadon, pornography and gambling. And as you may know, he is quite terrible at sports betting. Case in point, his wager on a Harlem Globetrotters game in Season 6, Episode 15 of “The Simpsons” (“Homie the Clown”). Watch:
If you’re unfamiliar with the Washington Generals, they’re a frequent victim of the Globetrotters’ shenanigans, and have only prevailed over Harlem once — in 1971. Please learn from the many errors of Krusty’s ways.
If you have a suggestions for a great sports betting/gambling scene in movies or television, please send it to info@new.sportshandle.com or Tweet us at @sports_handle. If it’s not already on the rundown, we’ll be happy to give a shoutout. And if you’re on Facebook (often but not always a cesspool), give us a like.
