Bills vs. Rams half time live betting update
The first half of NFL football for the year is over and it yielded just 20 points and a slew of turnovers as the Bills and Rams hit the locker room tied at 10. The total for Bills vs Rams on BetMGM Sportsbook began the night at 52.5, and after the first half the line has moved by more than a touchdown.
As of half time, BetMGM has adjusted the over/under to just 44.5 points.Β
Likewise, there’s been a little movement in the spread, too. BetMGM started the night with Buffalo at -2.5, but after a pair of Josh Allen picks and a fumble from rookie James Cook – it has come down. Bills vs. Rams Game Details
- Date: Thursday, September 8th, 2022
- Start Time: 8:20pm ET
- TV Channel: NBC
- Location: SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California
- Participants: Buffalo Bills @ Los Angeles Rams
- BetMGM Odds: BUF -2.5 (-110), O/U 52.5
Why the Bills can cover -2.5 on BetMGM Sportsbook
Heading into the 2022 season, the Bills are the betting favorite with bookmakers, including BetMGM, to hoist the Lombardi Trophy (+600!). There is plenty of optimism for the men in Buffalo.
For starters, the roster doesnβt have any glaring holes. After their offseason, it is arguably the most complete roster in the NFL. The Bills were able to solidify their backfield with the selection of Dalvin Cookβs brother, James. In addition, Buffalo was able to add ample depth to their secondary and offensive line. And the most significant move of them all, the Bills were able to sign Von Miller away from the defending champs.
Miller, 33, may not be the player he was when he won Super Bowl MVP in 2016, but he wreaked plenty of havoc on the Rams’ defensive line down the stretch to help them win a title in 2021.
Although the Rams added some flashy names like Bobby Wagner and Allen Robinson, LA does not have near the level of depth seen across the field on the Buffalo sideline. Jalen Ramsey is still a bonafide superstar in the Rams’ secondary but expect the Bills to exploit plenty of mismatches among their other secondary members.Β
Additionally, the Rams’ offensive line has plenty of question marks. Coleman Shelton will make his first career start at guard, and it will be the Ramsβ first game in half a decade where future Hall-of-Famer Andrew Whitworth wonβt be protecting the quarterback’s blindside. Joe Noteboom will be making the start at left tackle – he showed plenty of promise at points last year, but the Bills should be able to create disruption against this front.
Why the Rams can cover +2.5 on BetMGM
I meanβ¦come on! This is the defending Super Bowl champs weβre talking about here! Whereβs the respect? Buffalo has a loaded roster but coming into SoFi for a Primetime game is a tall task for any squad, even the consensus Super Bowl favorite.
Even though the Rams lost Von Miller, Andrew Whitworth, and Odell Beckham Jr. (for the time being), LA is still absolutely loaded.
Their biggest offseason acquisition was the signing of former Jaguars and Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson. Robinson has been held back by poor quarterback play his entire career; that will no longer be the case with Matthew Stafford.
On defense, the Rams added Bobby Wagner. Wagner, 32, gives their defense some leadership alongside Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey and is a cerebral player on the second level of their defense. Wagner is no longer the All-Pro caliber player he was in Seattle, but heβs still a great player who should complement Ernest Jones nicely.
Buffalo will be without All-Pro corner Tre-Davious White for at least the first four games. You can expect Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson to go berserk in this one. Additionally, Buffalo will be breaking in two new offensive linemen, guard Roger Saffold and tackle David Quessenberry. In general, if you had to find one weak point on the Bills, it would be the right side of their offensive line. The Rams’ defensive line still features arguably the greatest defensive player of all time in Aaron Donald, as well as Leonard Floyd and Greg Gaines.
Everyone should expect a close one here. Even if the Rams donβt win, you still have two points of wiggle room to get the Rams cover.
