Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Date: Thursday, October 27th, 2022
  • Start Time: 8:15 pm ET
  • Channel: Prime Video
  • Location: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay, Florida
  • Participants: Baltimore Ravens (4-3) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4)
  • BetMGM Sportsbook Odds: Tampa Bay -2, O/U 46

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2) at BetMGM Sportsbook

Despite being a heavy favorite to win the NFC South in the preseason, at the near halfway point, the Bucs are in a tie for first place with the Atlanta Falcons, with the Saints and Panthers just a game behind in the win column.

And speaking of heavy favorite, the Bucs have lost two consecutive games as a double-digit road favorite against the Steelers and Panthers. The quick turnaround may be a tough spot for Tampa, who will be down a number of starters in their secondary, including Carlton Davis, Antoine Winfield, and Sean Murphy-Bunting. Furthermore, interior d-lineman Akiem Hicks and wide receiver Russell Gage will also miss this one, with Julio Jones as a game-time decision.

But signs are pointing towards a shake-up of sorts:

Coach Todd Bowles said the Bucs are in a β€œdark place,” right now and they have to see if the older guys can still play and if the younger guys.are good enough to play.

— Rick Stroud (@NFLSTROUD) October 23, 2022

Could the Bucs count on younger players like 2022 draft picks Rachaad White, Cade Otton, and Zyon McCollum to break their losing streak?Β

One thing is for sure: Tampa will undoubtedly lean on Tom Brady to will them to victory. Although Brady hasn’t been as efficient as he was the previous two years in Tampa, he’s still 6th in passing yards with 8 TD passes to just 1 interception. Under new defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, the Ravens play zone defense at one of the highest rates in the league. Could this be the recipe for a Brady bounce back?

If you think so, there are plenty of markets you can wager on Brady at BetMGM, including touchdowns (1.5), yards (281.5), and longest completion (38.5).

Baltimore Ravens (+2) with BetMGM

Although the Ravens are 4-3, there is a scenario where they could easily be sitting at 7-0 heading into this Thursday Night game. Through seven weeks, the Ravens have trailed for all of 120 seconds this entire season. Baltimore has experienced 4th quarter collapses to the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and New York Giants.

Despite this, the Ravens are in first place in the AFC North thanks to a head-to-head win over reigning AFC champion Cincinnati.

But tonight presents several challenges. While the Bucs have their handful of injuries to worry about, so do the Ravens. Calais Campbell has already been ruled out, while a few of Baltimore’s playmakers have been deemed as questionable.

As for the #Ravens, sources say TE Mark Andrews and WR Rashod Bateman are both hopeful they’ll be able to play tonight. Both listed as questionable. We’ll get you final word later on @NFLGameDay Kickoff live from Tampa.

— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) October 27, 2022

Todd Bowles’ defenses have always been among the league leaders in blitz rates. If the Ravens continue to have a decimated perimeter, will Lamar struggle?Β

We can definitely count on a commitment to the run game. Under offensive coordinator Greg Roman, the Ravens have deployed one of the more unique rushing attacks in the entire NFL. And in recent weeks, Tampa’s front has been susceptible to the ground game, giving up 181 rushing yards to D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard in last week’s loss.

If you feel great about a big Lamar game, you can bet on his rushing yards (61.5), total yards (277.5), and longest rush (17.5) with BetMGM Sportsbook.
