Week 15 of the 2022 NFL regular season will begin with a high-stakes NFC West clash between the red-hot San Francisco 49ers and the scrappy Seattle Seahawks. San Francisco currently holds first place in the division with a 9-4 overall record but could see a major swing occur tonight on Thursday Night Football if the 7-6 Seahawks can pull off the upset as a 3.5-point underdog at home.
To heighten the stakes even further, new users at BetMGM Sportsbook can snag a $1,000 Risk-Free Bet for their first wager on Thursday Night Football. Sign up ahead of kickoff using the BetMGM bonus code HANDLETOP and the site will provide you with a safety net in case your first bet falls short.
BetMGM $1,000 Risk-Free Bet Breakdown
BetMGM Sportsbook currently offers one of the strongest welcome bonuses in the industry, which comes as no surprise considering they are among the best sports betting sites in the United States.
In order to begin placing bets with BetMGM, you’ll need to be 21+, located in a BetMGM state, and a first-time user with the brand. If all of that sounds about right, claim your bonus by completing these steps:
- Create an account at BetMGM Sportsbook using the bonus code HANDLETOP. Clicking on that link will not only take you directly to BetMGM, but the $1K Risk-Free offer will automatically be applied to your new account upon sign-up.
- After filling in your personal details and wrapping up the account creation process, fund your new account with an initial deposit of at least $10 or more.
- Head over to the sportsbook and lock in a wager ranging from $10 to $1,000 on any market for Thursday Night Football: 49ers at Seahawks. If you prefer to wager on a different NFL game or maybe even another sport, that works too. As long as it’s offered at BetMGM, it’s fair game for this promotion.
If that first bet settles as a loss, this is where the bonus comes into play. Instead of losing your entire stake and walking away empty-handed, BetMGM will give you a second chance at new life with a 100% refund of your lost stake up to $1,000.
If you happen to lose $50 or less, your refund will show up as one single-use free bet token. If you lose $50+, the refund will be divided up into five (5) separate single-use free bet tokens, each equal to 20% of the initial lost stake.
Keep in mind that while any winnings earned from free bets are yours to keep, the stake of the free bet will not be included in any returns. On top of this caveat, all free bets must be wagered within a week’s time (7 days) or they will be removed from your account.

San Francisco 49ers -3.5 (+100) at BetMGM Sportsbook
Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers (9-4, 8-5 ATS) are easily the league’s hottest team at the moment, as they enter tonight’s game on a six-game winning streak. Five of those six wins have been fairly lopsided – San Francisco routed the Miami Dolphins at home two weeks ago, 33-17, and followed that up with a dismantling of Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, 35-7.
San Francisco impressively did so following the loss of starting QB Jimmy Garoppolo, who went down early against Miami and was relieved by Mr. Irrelevant, rookie QB Brock Purdy. Despite being lifted by San Francisco’s dominant defense and run game, Purdy has effectively stolen the show in the Bay Area as the team remains undefeated since turning to the rook.
Purdy is a bit banged up ahead of tonight’s game in Seattle after suffering rib and oblique injuries in last week’s win over Tampa Bay but is expected to suit up. If for some reason Purdy can’t go, San Francisco will be forced to turn to fourth-string veteran journeyman Josh Johnson. San Francisco is also already down a key playmaker in WR Deebo Samuel, who suffered a pair of sprains in his left knee and ankle against the Buccaneers and is expected to miss the next few weeks. With all of the uncertainty surrounding San Francisco’s offense as they face a rival on the road that has had their number over the years (3-15 SU against Seattle since 2014), expect a much different result than what we’ve seen from Shanahan’s bunch as of late.
Seattle Seahawks +3.5 (-120) with BetMGM
Pete Carroll is enjoying his first season in Seattle without Russell Wilson in over a decade, as his Seahawks (7-6, 6-7 ATS) have been one of the league’s most pleasant surprises in 2022. Following the team’s shocking 6-3 start to the new campaign, Seattle has run into a bit of a wall as of late, dropping three of its last four contests to the likes of the Buccaneers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Carolina Panthers.
Two of Seattle’s most recent losses have occurred at home, where Carroll’s squad is a disappointing 3-3 on the season thus far. Lumen Field and the 12th Man in the stands have always provided Seattle with one of the best home field advantages in the sport, and should rise to the occasion tonight on primetime. Under Carroll, the Seahawks are a mind-boggling 23-5 SU when playing at home on primetime, going 20-7-1 ATS in those games.
As far as injuries are concerned, Seattle’s offense will get a major boost tonight as rookie sensation RB Kenneth Walker III is set to return after missing last week’s game against Carolina with an ankle injury. Walker’s backfield mate Deejay Dallas is currently tabbed as questionable after also missing the Carolina game with an ankle injury of his own, while a pair of key stoppers on the defensive end in S Ryan Neal and DT Al Woods statuses are also up in the air.
