Following an all-around display of dominance in the NFL’s Divisional Round, the Cincinnati Bengals will attempt to punch their ticket to a second consecutive Super Bowl appearance led by HC Zac Taylor and QB Joe Burrow. In order to do so, they’ll need to take down Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game for the second time in as many seasons.

Ohioans that are interested in backing the hometown Bengals in this evening’s AFC title game can do so over at BetMGM Sportsbook Ohio, a premier sports betting site that debuted in the Buckeye State on January 1, 2023.

For a limited time, all new signups that register using the BetMGM Ohio bonus code HANDLETOP will unlock a $1,000 First Bet Offer that pays back all losing first-time wagers with bonus bets. Simply register using the link above, deposit $10, and your first cash bet will be backed by BetMGM Ohio in the event of a loss!

How to Claim BetMGM Ohio’s First Bet Offer

In order to secure this bonus, you must be a resident of Ohio and located within state lines at the time of placing your promotional first bet. In addition, you must be over the age of 21 in order to legally wager on sports with BetMGM Sportsbook Ohio.

Begin the account creation process by using this link and the BetMGM bonus code HANDLETOP. From there, hit the gold ‘Register’ button and fill out the requested personal information.

Once your account is up and running, make an initial deposit of $10 or more.

After funding your account, head over to BetMGM’s sports betting menu and select any event listed on the site. Place a wager ranging from $10 to $1,000 and you should be good to go!

If that initial wager wins, you’ll receive your payout per usual and the promotion will end right then and there. But if that bet is graded as a loss, your First Bet Offer up to $1,000 will come into play.

All losing wagers of $50 or less will be replenished with a single-use bonus bet token, while wagers exceeding $50 will be covered with five single-use bonus bet tokens, each equal to 20% of the lost stake.

You will need to use your bonus bets within 7 days of receiving them or they will be removed from your account.

If you happen to cash in on a bonus bet, always remember that the bonus bet stake will not be included in your wager’s return.

Bengals at Chiefs game details + betting preview

  • Date: Sunday, January 29, 2023
  • Start Time: 6:30pm ET
  • TV Channel: CBS
  • Location: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri
  • Participants: Cincinnati Bengals (12-4) vs Kansas City Chiefs (14-3)
  • BetMGM Sportsbook Ohio Odds: Chiefs -1.5 (-120), O/U 48

This year’s AFC Championship Game will feature a rematch of last year’s thrilling 27-24 battle that sent the Cincinnati Bengals to Super Bowl LVI against the Los Angeles Rams. The Kansas City Chiefs were on the losing end of that result, but will now have a chance at revenge nearly one year removed from the franchise’s first AFC Championship loss since 2018.

Cincinnati appears to have Kansas City’s number heading into this one, as the Bengals not only eliminated the Chiefs in last year’s playoffs but followed that up with a regular season win at home in 2022 with the same exact final score of 27-24. Bengals QB Joe Burrow advanced to 3-0 in head-to-head matchups against Patrick Mahomes following that result and now enters the AFC Championship Game exuding the utmost confidence after last week’s 27-10 beatdown of the Buffalo Bills.

But Mahomes is no stranger to the big moments, as the Chiefs superstar has now appeared in five consecutive AFC Championship Games since assuming the starting role in Kansas City five seasons ago. Mahomes led the Chiefs to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in 2019 and 2020, winning the first over the San Francisco 49ers for the franchise’s second Super Bowl title.

The biggest concern heading into this one is the health of Mahomes, as the Chiefs gunslinger suffered an ankle injury during the team’s 27-20 victory at home over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Divisional Round. Game odds quickly flipped to Cincinnati -1.5 earlier in the week with fans and bettors anticipating the worst for Mahomes, however a smooth exit from the team’s midweek press conference showing no noticeable limp or walking boot of any kind has since shifted the line back to Kansas City -1.5. As it stands, the former MVP is all systems go for his fifth career AFC Championship Game.
