But Mahomes is no stranger to the big moments, as the Chiefs superstar has now appeared in five consecutive AFC Championship Games since assuming the starting role in Kansas City five seasons ago. Mahomes led the Chiefs to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in 2019 and 2020, winning the first over the San Francisco 49ers for the franchise’s second Super Bowl title.
The biggest concern heading into this one is the health of Mahomes, as the Chiefs gunslinger suffered an ankle injury during the team’s 27-20 victory at home over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Divisional Round.
