The Grizz come into this matchup as the two-seed in the West, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing for them recently. Memphis has lost six of their last seven, including a home loss to the Portland Trail Blazers last night, 122-112.
A big reason for their recent decline is the absence of big man Steven Adams who has missed four straight games due to a PCL sprain in his knee. He will not be in the lineup for tonight’s contest.
This is the ultimate buy-low spot for a talented Memphis squad. At some point, you’d think they are going to shoot better. During this cold streak, the Grizzlies have shot 29% from beyond the arc. If Memphis can somehow shoot its way out of this cold streak, not only are they an excellent candidate to cover, but they are plenty capable of pulling off the upset.

Cavaliers -5
After acquiring Donovan Mitchell, the Cavs have slowly established themselves as a bonafide contender in the Eastern Conference. They had an up-and-down January, but they stayed hot at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, winning five of their seven games, including an OT win on January 2nd where Mitchell scored 71 points.
Just like Memphis, Cleveland is coming off a bad home loss. The Miami Heat defeated them, 100-97 on Tuesday night – the Cavaliers were just 11 for 40 from 3-point range as Darius Garland and Mitchell struggled on the offensive end.
This is an excellent bounceback spot for the Cavs, who catch a shorthanded Memphis team that has been brutal on the defensive end of the floor without its rim protector, Steven Adams. Expect Garland and Mitchell to be effective around the rim.
