Following an action-packed weekend that featured four NFL postseason games, we head to the basketball court for a sneaky night of quality college hoops. ESPN will air a doubleheader on its main channel, starting with Duke at Virginia Tech at 7:00pm ET before turning things over to Waco, Texas for the game of the night between the No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks and the No. 17 Baylor Bears.
New players can get in on the fun by registering for an account with BetMGM Sportsbook ahead of tonight’s Big 12 showdown. Those that do so using the bonus code SHNEWS50 will automatically unlock a two-part welcome bonus consisting of a $1,000 Risk-Free Bet PLUS a $50 free bet on the house!
$1,000 Risk-Free Bet + $50 Free Bet Breakdown
Those who wish to jump on this exclusive welcome offer can do so as long as they are over the age of 21 years old, a brand new customer with BetMGM, and located within the perimeters of a participating BetMGM state at the time of wagering.
If you fall under that criteria, you can begin placing bets with one of the industry’s best sports betting sites by completing the following steps:
- Create a first-ever account with BetMGM Sportsbook using the bonus code SHNEWS50. Clicking on that link will redirect you to the site or app with your promotion already applied. Begin the signup process by clicking on the gold ‘Register’ button and fill in the requested personal information. Don’t forget to enter the bonus code SHNEWS50 when prompted.
- Fund your new account with an initial deposit. A minimum deposit of $10 is required in order to qualify for this bonus.
- Place a sports wager on any market offered by BetMGM ranging from the promotion’s minimum of $10 all the way up to its cap of $1,000. You can wager more than $1K if you’d like, just keep in mind that only that amount will be covered per the welcome offer.
If your risk-free bet settles as a winner, you will take home its designated payout and be on your way. However, if it loses, that is where the promotion will come into play.
Losing risk-free wagers worth $50 or less will be refunded as one single-use bet credit, while any amount over $50 will be broken up into five individual bet credits, each equal to 20% of the initial lost stake.
You will have 7 calendar days to use your bet credits before they disappear. Also note that while any winnings that result from a bet credit are yours to keep, the bet credit’s value will not be included in your payout.
But wait…there’s more! As soon as your risk-free wager is locked in, you will receive an additional $50 bet credit on the house. This $50 bet credit also must be used in one shot and comes with an expiration date of 7 days.
Note: The special $50 free aspect of this promotion is not available to bettors in New York or Ohio.
No. 9 Kansas at No. 17 Baylor game info + betting preview

- Start Time: 9:00pm ET

Only three teams currently ranked in the AP Poll’s latest Top 25 will be in play on Monday night, and two of them happen to be facing one another at the Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas. Tonight’s Big 12 battle will pit the sliding No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks against the red-hot No. 17 Baylor Bears, who will look for their fifth consecutive win in front of what should be a fiery home crowd.
Bill Self’s Jayhawks were starting to look like one of college basketball’s best units after knocking off then-No. 14 Iowa State at home and entering last Monday as the No. 2-ranked team in the nation. But after a slim one-point loss on the road to rival No. 13 Kansas State followed by an absolute drubbing at home courtesy of the No. 14 TCU Horned Frogs, Kansas will have to go back to the drawing board ahead of a massive conference matchup against the Bears.
Baylor, on the other hand, is playing some of its best basketball of the season ahead of this one. The Bears will enter tonight’s game on a four-game winning streak that dates back to January 11 and can tie their season-high of five straight victories with a win over the Jayhawks. Three of Baylor’s four wins during the ongoing streak occurred on the road over West Virginia, Texas Tech and Oklahoma, making the Bears’ recent run that much more impressive. After a shocking 0-3 start to begin conference play, 4-3 Baylor can somehow pull even in the Big 12 standings with the 5-2 Jayhawks if they come out on top tonight in Waco.
