BetRivers Sportsbook Promo Codes & Review
In December 2018, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh opened its brand new brick-and-mortar sportsbook, and the launch of its legal online sportsbook, BetRivers Sportsbook Pennsylvania, followed in June 2019. Not long after that in September the French Lick Casino opened a new sportsbook as well, and a month later launched Indiana’s very first mobile sports betting app, BetRivers Sportsbook Indiana. BetRivers was also among the first wave of online sportsbooks to go live in Colorado (May 2020) and Illinois (June 2020).
BetRivers is now available online in Arizona, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado and Louisiana.
This page will give you an overview of the BetRivers Sportsbook online experience across the U.S., which features the same attractive design and smooth interface whether you are placing wagers in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Colorado, or elsewhere.

While up and running in most states where it could launch, BetRivers has plans to launch online sportsbooks throughout the country as more states pass legislation and regulations to allow sports betting and online gaming.
Rush Street Interactive is the parent company for BetRivers, and after working with social gaming sites throughout the mid-2010s it began to launch online casinos. Once the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in May 2018 enabled states other than Nevada to start offering legal sports betting, Rush Street was primed and ready to move into online sports betting as well.
The online BetRivers Sportsbook is designed by the Kambi Group, the sports betting software, technology, and risk-management services provider that has developed online sportsbooks for several casinos in the United States and around the world. Kambi also designed the SugarHouse Online Sportsbook for Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s sister casino in Philadelphia, and thus unsurprisingly has given the online BetRivers Sportsbook an almost identical look and feel.
Key differences between states
Wherever you access BetRivers from, both the web-based and mobile versions of the book operate essentially the same in all respects.
The actual sportsbooks in all available states are practically identical, and the only differences will be due to the laws and regulations of the state the site is operating in. Below is a brief list of some of the major differences.
- In Indiana, betting on award shows such as the Oscars is available, separating it from other states like Pennsylvania or Colorado.
- There is no prop betting on college sports in Colorado.
- In Illinois, no bets can be made on in-state colleges, no matter where they are playing.
- eSports betting is not allowed in any of the states where BetRivers is active.
- New York restricts wagering on in-state, NY-based colleges, and any college game or contest that is played in the state (regardless of whether it involves a NY team). The lone exception is that betting on tournament games is permitted, as long as no teams from New York are playing.
- In August 2022 the SugarHouse Sportsbook product in New Jersey rebranded itself to BetRivers. The RSI SugarHouse product had been active in NJ since 2018, but is now available with the BetRivers branding.
- New Jersey does not allow betting on in-state college teams, or any college game taking place in the state.
BetRivers sportsbook bonus package for new players

|First Deposit Bonus||2nd Chance Bet up to $500|
The terms and conditions of this offer are incredibly simple to follow. In order to get started, you must be 21 years of age or older and located in an active BetRivers Sportsbook state. Head over to BetRivers.com or fire up your state-specific BetRivers Sportsbook mobile app by clicking on any of the links on this page. Once inside, hit ‘Join Now’ to begin the registration process and follow these steps:
- Register for your brand new BetRivers Sportsbook account.
- Make a first-time deposit of at least $10 or more.
- Place your first bet with odds of -200 or longer (-150 would qualify, -250 would not) and if your wager comes up short, BetRivers will reimburse your stake up to $500 ($100 in NY) in the form of a free bet credit!
All eligible users will receive their single-use free bet credit within 24 hours of the initial wager’s settlement and must use it within 14 days or it will expire. Always keep in mind that your first wager placed after account creation will be considered your promotional bet, so use it wisely!
After issuance, any free bet credit used will only pay out the winnings, never the stake. For example, a $100 cash bet placed on a team at +100 odds would typically pay out $100 in winnings, plus the bettor’s initial $100 stake, totaling $200. If the same bet was placed and won using a free bet credit, the bettor would only receive $100 in winnings. Regardless, it’s still one of the better promotional offerings in the business right now and we encourage all bettors to take advantage!
Note: The BetRivers bonus offer is a second chance bet up to $100 in New York.
BetRivers loyalty program
Once you’re up and running and placing bets at BetRivers, you automatically begin participating in the iRush Rewards program. It’s the same program featured in other Rush Street Interactive online sportsbooks, awarding prizes and benefits in relation to the volume of play.
iRush Rewards is a tier-based loyalty program via which users accumulate points based on how much they have wagered during the previous 60 days (with the most recent 30 days weighted more), with each new threshold carrying the user to a higher iRush Rewards Loyalty Level.
Like the brick-and-mortar iRush Rewards program, bettors actually earn both loyalty level points and bonus store points at once. The loyalty points get you various VIP perks and gifts while the bonus store points can be used to buy bonus money rewards in the Bonus Store. Tracking your progress on bonuses is simple as well, and can be done by clicking “My Sports Bonuses,” one of the first choices on the main menu.
There are not as many ongoing bonuses or promotions or “odds boosts” at BetRivers Sportsbook as you’ll find at other online sportsbooks such as at FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook. That said, there are additional incentives beyond the sign-up bonus to keep users placing wagers with BetRivers.
BetRivers Sportsbook has begun to feature other fun promotions throughout the year, for example, a season-long $500,000 Pennsylvania Pick’em contest that cost $150 to play. The contest saw players picking NFL games all season, with the one picking the most games correctly winning $125,000. The top 500 finishers all cashed, and weekly prizes were also awarded.
BetRivers Sportsbook basics
BetRivers Sportsbook users are required to be at least 21 years of age in order to place bets, which means some personal information must be supplied in order to verify your identity and age. This includes name, date of birth, physical address, email address, phone number and the last four digits of the user’s social security number. Unlike some online sportsbooks, photo identification is not required, although BetRivers reserves the right to ask for more information if needed to verify a user’s age and identity.
You don’t need to be in the state you wish to play in to create a BetRivers account, but in order to place a wager users must be physically located within the respective state of their account. Whether using a computer or mobile device, geolocation technology is used to determine whether the user is within the state’s borders.
Regulators in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Indiana permit betting on professional and collegiate sports, but there is no college sports prop betting in Colorado. High school and amateur sporting events are not allowed in any market, and Indiana is the only market you will currently find non-sporting competitions like awards shows available to bet upon at the BetRivers Sportsbook.
Even so, when compared to most online sportsbooks, BetRivers offers an especially large selection of different sports on which to bet, including higher-than-average choices among international markets.
In all there are usually around 20 different sports in total users can bet upon at any given time, among them Australian Rules football, baseball, basketball (NBA and NCAA college basketball), boxing, cricket, cycling, darts, football, golf, handball, hockey, motor sports, rugby, soccer, tennis, and UFC/MMA.
Within each sport you’ll find a wide variety of contests, betting options, and bet types. Besides all of the typical single-game wagers like betting point spreads, moneylines, and totals, you can wager on various prop bets, create parlays, enjoy in-game live betting, bet futures, and even cash out winnings early by “buying out” before an event finishes. (See below under “Betting options at BetRivers” for details.)
Another handy feature of the BetRivers Sportsbook is the ability to display odds in different formats — American, Fractional, or Decimal (standard in Europe).
BetRivers mobile app
The BetRivers Sportsbook interface on both the mobile app and web-browser is relatively simple to navigate, and so far has received consistently good response from those who have used it.
When first opened, the app highlights live games and other popular, ongoing sporting events. Click “More Sports” (a button that is a bit too small) to access the entire list of available sports, choose your sport, then scroll to find your chosen game and wager.
Placing bets is a two-step process, first making your choice, then entering the desired amount and clicking the “Place Bet” button to submit. The lines and potential payouts are all clear and easy to find.
From the app you can also view your entire bet history and check on bonuses. Accessing your account is also simple, making it relatively easy to check your balance and perform other functions.
As noted, the web-based platform has a similar look and feel to the app, though the added screen space precludes the need for the drop-down menu which here always occupies the left-hand column. Games and bets appear in the wide middle column, while a “newsfeed” showing bettors’ wins streak continuously scrolls on the right. This newsfeed is, how to put it lightly, a pointless and distracting waste of space.
In the top left corner of the sportsbook you’ll see the current state that you are betting in. It’s easy to select and swap to a new state if you’ve relocated since your last bet.
Similar to the app experience, clicking on a bet pulls up a small window on the lower right in which you type your wager and click “Place bet” to confirm. If you aren’t quite ready to make your bet, you can click the pin icon and save the wager while you surf around to consider other bets to make.
An especially handy feature on both the app and web-based platform is the search function, enabling users to find specific teams or games right away instead of working through the individual sports and lists of contests. Another feature available on both versions although better suited for the web-based platform is the ability to live stream certain events within the browser itself.
Finally, both the app and the web-based versions feature built-in customer support to help users. Clicking the chat bubble in the lower left corner gets you an automated bot delivering links to answers for most queries, but actual live chat support is also available every day from 9:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. Email support is also available for less urgent questions or concerns.
Betting options at BetRivers Sportsbook
The online BetRivers Sportsbook provides all of the expected options for different types of sports bets, as well as others that are perhaps less common. Pricing comes via Kambi, which is prominent in Pennsylvania in particular, so if the prices look familiar (to DraftKings and others), well, that’s why. It’d be better to have more diversity. Kambi’s prices are generally consistent with market average, though inflated a bit at times. But futures pricing is quite strong compared with other sportsbooks.
The usual single-game wagers on moneylines, point spreads, and totals are all available for practically every contest. Many games offer users options for alternative point spreads or totals with correspondingly adjusted prices, thus enabling bettors to “buy points” if they wish when making bets. Or to parlay individual picks, adjusting as desired for each leg of the parlay.
There are also a generous number of game and player prop bets enabling users to bet on periods, halves, player statistics, and other results unrelated to overall game results.
Futures are available as well allowing users to bet on league, conference, and divisional champions, player awards like MVPs, team win totals and more can be found under each individual sport.
In-game or live betting is also available, with all current live bets being easy to find by clicking the corresponding button displayed on the sportsbook homepage.
The “Jackpot Parlay” option is also prominently displayed, and clicking it brings up a pop-up box where users can choose a sport, a time frame (up to the next 24 hours), and a number of bets in order (up to $2) to build their own parlays. It is possible to combine different sports, too, when building your parlays.
The system will generate wagers for you — and you may “X” them out to cut it and then add a different one. You must choose the maximum number of legs to grab the jackpot. More on how it works:
Select the sports you want to bet on. Select multiple sports to build a combination bet on several sports. Note that some sports might not have enough events in the selected time frame to build a full combination. In that case, just add a couple more sports of your liking or increase the selected time frame!
Select the time frame you want your bets to be selected from. When using shorter time frames it is possible that there are not enough upcoming events for the selected sports. In that case, just add a couple more sports of your liking or increase the selected time frame. Keep in mind that selecting live bets increases the chance of odds changing before you have the chance to place the bet.
Another feature available on BetRivers Sportsbook is the “Buy Out” option enabling users to close out bets before the outcome of a contest is decided. A type of insurance, buying out enables users to preserve part of their winnings or cut their losses. Buying out is available for pregame, live, future, and parlay bets, and can be for an amount that is different than the original wager.
One more? Check out the “instant betting” area within contests streaming live. If you are so inclined, you can bet on the next point in a basketball game, or who will score the next point in a tennis match, for example.
Overall user experience
Like any online sportsbook, it might take a little while for new users to grow accustomed to the many features and functions of the online BetRivers Sportsbook. However most will find both the web-based platform and app to be intuitive and simple to navigate, making for an excellent user experience.
The site usually loads quickly and smoothly, and whether on a desktop or mobile device is especially clear and streamlined throughout. Unlike several other sportsbooks on the market, BetRivers isn’t especially aesthetically pleasing, kind of boxy in design, with a few too many banners pitching the online casino, plus a newsfeed about other players’ apparent wins, occupying too much real estate.
That said, most importantly, bets are very easy to place and track on the online BetRivers Sportsbook, making it possible for users to make their wagers with confidence and more constructively direct their energies toward focusing on the results of their chosen contests.
Deposits and withdrawals
There are a variety of ways both to deposit into and withdraw money from your BetRivers Sportsbook account. Depositing methods include:
- PayPal — Fast and simple, usually processes in 24-72 hours.
- ACH/VIP Preferred — Checking account transfer.
- Online banking — sign into your bank account with existing credentials, through the BetRivers portal. This method relies on the online bill pay feature of your bank.
- Pay with cash at casino cage — Pay cash at the partnering casino.
- BetRivers Play+ Card — Personalized prepaid card that you can fund with credit card, bank account or debit card.
- Credit/Debit card — Visa, MasterCard, and Discover are widely accepted throughout the U.S.
- Wire Transfer — Schedule it with your bank and direct the funds over.
There are also multiple ways to withdraw funds from the book:
- Cash at the casino cage
- BetRivers Play+ Card
- Check by mail
The BetRivers Play+ Card is a convenient way to handle deposits and withdraws. You can fund the BetRivers Play+ Card via a variety of methods (credit card, debit card, bank account), after which you can then move funds instantly from the card to your account and vice-versa. The BetRivers Play+ Card can also be used at ATMs in the PULSE and NYC networks, as well as wherever Discover® is accepted.
Users can also deposit and withdraw funds even when out of state, although again, bets can only be placed while in a state with legal wagering.
