Caesars Sportsbook on Tuesday announced that its Maryland app is available for download, and new customers can get up to $100 in bet credits by signing up for the platform ahead of Maryland’s go-live date.
Caesars is among 10 operators expected to be licensed by the Sports Wagering Application Review Committee Wednesday. The Maryland Lottery is set to meet Thursday and has plans to announce a launch date that could be as early as next week. When Maryland operators launch, they will do so via a “controlled demonstration,” during which they will be live one day but offline for auditing the following day. This demonstration could last up to four days before a full launch will happen.
Several other apps are currently available to download in Maryland, including BetMGM, DraftKings, and PointsBet. Barstool Sportsbook, Betfred, betPARX, BetRivers, Fanatics, and FanDuel are also expected to go live in the first wave, but have not yet made apps available in Maryland.
Caesars has foothold in Maryland
Since Marylanders in November 2020 legalized sports betting, Caesars has been making its presence known in the state. The company operates a branded sportsbook at the Horseshoe Casino-Baltimore and has partnered with the NFL Baltimore Ravens.
In preparation for the launch, the Caesars Sportsbook Casino and Truck will be at the Horsehoe Casino. The tricked-out 18-wheeler, which has traveled across the U.S. since the start of the football season, has an activation center, a podcast studio, and is often the site of Caesars events.
Caesars’ Maryland app is available for download on iOS and Android devices, and is also available via desktop. New customers can get the $100 in betting credits when they register and fund an account. One $25 bet credit will be issued on go-live day, and additional credits will be issued one per week for three weeks.
“The Caesars Sportsbook app is ready to deliver an unmatched sports wagering experience in Maryland, true to Caesars’ legacy in the state,” said Eric Hession, president of Caesars Digital, via press release. “Today’s launch for pre-registration is a great way for Maryland sports fans to prepare for mobile sports betting’s full launch. We’d like to thank our exceptional local partnership team and state regulators for making this possible.”
