The Knicks haven’t been a very competitive team since 2013, when they won 54 games and went to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. But regardless, the Knicks are always a staple of the NBA Christmas lineup, and will take on a hot Sixers team in this year’s edition of the Christmas noon tip-off.
It is Philly’s first full season with James Harden, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey, but they haven’t been able to stay healthy at the same time. Harden missed considerable time with a foot injury, Embiid has sporadically been in and out of the lineup, while Maxey has been out since mid-November with a foot fracture.
Philly will try to right the ship and get back to the top half of the Eastern Conference with a win. On the other side, the Knicks had been hovering around .500 basketball until a recent streak where they won eight straight before falling to the Toronto Raptors at Madison Square Garden.
New York is trying to make their second postseason appearance in three years under head coach Tom Thibodeau. Despite signing him to what many thought was a hefty contract at the time, free agent acquisition Jalen Brunson has been a consistent producer for this Knicks team. In addition, Julius Randle has had a resurgence, coming off one of the worst years of his career in 2021.

Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart seem to be out for blood this year as the C’s fell just short of a title last season and come into this one boasting one of the NBA’s best records through Christmas.
You can expect plenty of back-and-forth action here, as Bucks vs Celtics games always seem to come down to the wire.

With Steph Curry out, look for Golden State to lean on Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson to try to pull off the slight upset at home.
