Betting anchors new radio format in Providence
To think that sports betting isnβt mainstream, well, think again. A radio station in Providence, Rhode Island, that previously offered listeners a news/talk and business format recently changed to focus on sports and sports betting.
The station, 790 The Score/WPRV-AM, has revealed a daily lineup consisting of shows such as Bet QL Daily, You Better You Bet, and Bet MGM Tonight. Twelve hours of daily programming are dedicated to talk shows with sports betting as the focal point.
βItβs official, 790 The Score is now Providenceβs best bet for sports fans and sports betting enthusiasts, and we couldnβt be more excited,β said Holly Paras, the station’s vice president/marketing manager, according to Radio Ink. βThe station features a lineup of expert personalities that deliver unique sports talk and sports betting insights that entertain, inform, and engage, along with New England Patriots football, New York Yankee baseball, Boston Celtics basketball, and Brown University football and basketball play-by-play. We think Providence sports and sports betting fans will love 790 The Score.β
The time when talking about wagering on sports took place privately more than publicly is clearly a thing of the past.
