Can Taylor Heinicke Continue to Surprise?
The Commanders come into this Monday Night showdown at 4-5, firmly in last place in a surprisingly loaded NFC East. But they’ve found new life under backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke. Washington currently boasts a 2-1 record with the backup and was just minutes away from going 3-0 before falling to 8-1 Minnesota last week.
Although the Commanders’ offense hasn’t made any considerable strides under Heinicke, stud receiver Terry McLaurin’s production has skyrocketed. In Heinicke’s three starts, McLaurin has posted 16 catches for 242 yards and a touchdown. Jahan Dotson Return…but no Chase Young
The return of 2022 first-round pick Jahan Dotson could go a long way towards the Commanders potentially pulling off the stunner this Monday Night.
Dotson will be in the lineup for the first time since Week 4. Dotson posted a stat line of 12 catches for 152 yards and four touchdowns in his four games.
