Can Taylor Heinicke Continue to Surprise?
The Commanders come into this Monday Night showdown at 4-5, firmly in last place in a surprisingly loaded NFC East. But theyβve found new life under backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke. Washington currently boasts a 2-1 record with the backup and was just minutes away from going 3-0 before falling to 8-1 Minnesota last week.
Although the Commandersβ offense hasnβt made any considerable strides under Heinicke, stud receiver Terry McLaurinβs production has skyrocketed. In Heinickeβs three starts, McLaurin has posted 16 catches for 242 yards and a touchdown. At FanDuel, you can use your FanDuel Special Offer on a number of McLaurin props, including receptions (over 4.5 at +118 odds), yards (over 49.5 yards at -113 odds), or to score a touchdown at anytime (+250 odds).
The Commanders would have to put together their best game of the year to top the undefeated Eagles. Itβll have to start on the defensive line, where the Commanders have been borderline elite for the past few seasons, led by Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, and Montez Sweat. If the Commandersβ defensive front can wreak havoc, donβt be surprised if they can upset Philly at the Linc. If you like the Commandersβ odds, you can take them at the spread (10.5 points) or get crazy and bet them on the moneyline with some juicy odds at +410.
Can Eagles Stay Undefeated?
The Eagles are the lone undefeated team in the NFL and boast the second-best Super Bowl odds at FanDuel Sportsbook (+500) and the best odds to come out of the NFC (+195). However, the last time we saw the Eagles, they struggled mightily against a team with the highest odds of landing the first overall pick.
Coming into this one, the Eagles are 5-3 ATS and are currently slated as favorites for each of their remaining nine games. If you like the Eaglesβ odds to bounce back and cover tonight, you can lay 10.5 points at -115 odds on FanDuel.
If you like the Eagles to not only win tonight but go the distance and finish the regular season at 17-0, you can bet that at +1100 odds.
Hurts MVP?
Many experts were bullish on the Eagles coming into the season after a series of big-time moves, including the additions of AJ Brown, Haason Reddick, and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. But those same experts questioned their ceiling because of how Jalen Hurts ended last season.
Hurts has put those questions to rest for the time being, as heβs been one of the NFLβs best stories of the season. Not only has Hurts enjoyed a third-year breakout, but he currently boasts the second-best odds to hoist the MVP trophy at +340 odds. In addition, Hurts holds the third-shortest odds to win the Offensive Player of the Year Award at +450.Β
Jahan Dotson Returnβ¦but no Chase Young
The return of 2022 first-round pick Jahan Dotson could go a long way towards the Commanders potentially pulling off the stunner this Monday Night.
Dotson will be in the lineup for the first time since Week 4. Dotson posted a stat line of 12 catches for 152 yards and four touchdowns in his four games. Coming into this Week 10 matchup, Dotson still leads the team in touchdown receptions. He was a valuable weapon in the redzone and did damage from both the outside and the slot.Β
Unfortunately, former 2nd overall pick Chase Young still needs to be placed on the active roster. Young is recovering from an ACL tear, and the Commanders are doing their due diligence by being patient with their highly touted asset.
The #Commanders are not activating star pass-rusher Chase Young off IR for tonight's game against the #Eagles, source said. Young, coming back from an ACL tear, is close to being ready and there is a real chance he makes his debut next week if all goes well at practice this week.
