Golden State Warriors at Boston Celtics game info + preview
- Date: Thursday, January 19, 2023
- Start Time: 7:30 pm ET
- TV Channel: TNT
- Location: TD Garden, Boston, MA
- Participants: Golden State Warriors (22-22) vs. Boston Celtics (33-12)
- FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Boston -6.5, O/U 237.5
Leading off the night on TNT is a rematch of last yearβs NBA Finals: the Golden State Warriors will visit the Boston Celtics at TD Garden.
The Celtics have all but solidified that they are the best team in the NBA for this season. Behind the efforts of Jayson Tatum, who currently holds the third-lowest odds of winning the NBA MVP (+700), the Celtics are the most dangerous team in the league.
But theyβve been unable to step over the Warriors’ hurdle. In last yearβs NBA Finals, Boston built a 2-1 series lead and blew a late lead in the 4th quarter of Game 4 in their own building that would’ve put the series out of reach. But after the Warriors came back to win that game, the series was over as Golden State handled Boston in the final two games.
Even though Golden State has yet to look like that version of themselves in 2022-2023, in the previous meeting against Boston earlier this season, the Warriors decisively defeated them 123-107. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson had 32 and 34 points, respectively, as the Golden State backcourt continued to terrorize Boston.Β
However, Golden State has been a much different team on the road than at home. Golden State is a woeful 5-17 away from the Chase Center. Golden State will have their work cut out in a raucous TD Garden.
Brooklyn Nets at Phoenix Suns game info + preview
- Date: Thursday, January 19, 2023
- Start Time: 10:00 pm ET
- TV Channel: TNT
- Location: Footprint Center, Phoenix, Arizona
- Participants: Brooklyn Nets (27-16) vs. Phoenix Suns (21-24)
- FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Brooklyn -1.5, O/U 223
Since Devin Booker went down with a groin strain, the Suns have been on a brutal losing skid. The Suns are in the midst of a three-game losing streak and have lost 12 of their last 14 contests.
Earlier in the season, the Suns had hovered around the top of the Western Conference standings and were the conferenceβs top seed for some time. That is long gone as the Suns are now in a rapid decline – going into tonightβs matchup, they stand as the 12th seed. The Suns will have some reinforcements, as Cam Johnson is expected to play after missing the last few games.
Conversely, the Nets have also slowly slipped down the Eastern Conference standings. Brooklyn has lost their last three: two of which have come against Oklahoma City and San Antonio. The Nets have severely missed Kevin Durant, who has missed time with a sprained MCL. The Nets are winless without their superstar, who will again be out for tonightβs game.
His partner-in-crime, Kyrie Irving, is expected to return to the lineup tonight after missing Tuesday nightβs contest against the Spurs. Expect Irving to carry the lionβs share for Brooklyn.
