No. 16 Duke at NC State game info + betting preview

  • Date: Wednesday, January 4, 2023
  • Tip-Off: 7:00pm ET
  • TV Coverage: ACC Network
  • Venue: PNC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Participants: No. 16 Duke Blue Devils (11-3) vs NC State Wolfpack (11-4)
  • FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Duke -4.5 (-205), O/U 144.5

Tonight’s battle in Raleigh, North Carolina will feature HC Jon Scheyer’s No. 16 Duke Blue Devils storming into PNC Arena looking to escape with a win against a pesky NC State Wolfpack team led by HC Kevin Keatts.

The 11-3 Blue Devils have jumped out to a 2-1 start to begin their ACC schedule, while NC State will look to improve upon its poor 1-3 record in league play thus far. The young Blue Devils are coming off a dominant home win over Florida State, 86-67, but struggled mightily against Wake Forest in the team’s first and only true road game in the contest prior: then-No. 14 Duke was dropped by the Demon Deacons in Winston-Salem with a final score of 81-70. Scheyer’s squad will hope for a different result as they enter another hostile environment tonight in PNC Arena.

Despite their slow start in the ACC, the Wolfpack have played some of their best basketball of the season at home, boasting an 8-1 overall record in Raleigh as opposed to 0-2 in games away from home. Two of the Pack’s three conference losses occurred on the road at Miami and Clemson, so tonight’s game will serve as an incredible opportunity to right the ship and get back in the mix in the ACC with a big-time upset over the Blue Devils.

Duke is currently listed as a 4.5-point favorite over NC State at FanDuel Sportsbook, while those feeling the upset can snag Wolfpack moneyline at +168. The game’s total is set at 144.5 points.
