Lamar Jackson Status
The most significant question mark heading into this matchup is the looming status of Lamar Jackson. Jackson suffered a PCL sprain five weeks ago and has not been able to register a practice since.
Many have speculated Jackson is passively holding out of the playoffs because of ongoing extension discussions with Baltimoreβs front office. However, Lamar put those rumors to rest:
Thank you everyone for your support and concerns regarding my injuries. I want to give you all an update as I am in the recovery process. Iβve suffered a PCL grade 2 sprain on the borderline of a strain 3. There is still inflammation surrounding my knee and my knee
— Lamar Jackson (@Lj_era8) January 12, 2023
Baltimore will turn to Tyler Huntley or Anthony Brown, with Jackson out of the equation. Huntley is dealing with shoulder tendinitis and a wrist injury – if he cannot go, Baltimore will turn to Anthony Brown to make his second consecutive start against Cincinnati.
In Brownβs first career start last week, he went 19 for 44 with 286 passing yards. Regardless of whichever backup goes for the Ravens, they will need to take care of the football and establish the run game early on.

Bengals with 8 Straight Wins and ATS Covers
The Bengals storm into the AFC playoff picture as arguably the leagueβs hottest team, winning and covering in each of their last eight games.
The Bengals are led by QB Joe Burrow, who threw for a career-high 35 touchdown passes this season, tied for 2nd in the NFL. Burrow is surrounded by some of the leagueβs best weapons – JaβMarr Chase, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and Joe Mixon will make life challenging for a surging Ravens defense.
As dynamic as Burrow has been all season, he has struggled in his two starts against Baltimore this season. Burrow has thrown for 432 yards in two combined starts with two touchdown passes and one interception.
With no Lamar Jackson in the picture, if Burrow can rebound, Cincinnati has to like their chances to win their ninth-straight game against a beat-up Ravens squad.

Can the Ravens Pull Off the Upset?
The Ravens lost in last weekβs season finale, 27-16, to these same Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati was in control throughout that one, taking a decisive 24-7 lead at halftime.Β
Anthony Brown threw two early interceptions that built Cincinnatiβs lead. However, after those two turnovers, the young backup showed promise throwing the football. Additionally, Baltimore has to like their chances more than last week. Both JK Dobbins and Mark Andrews were out of commission in last weekβs loss, but both are slated to return for this Wild Card matchup.
