We haven’t had the best viewing experiences on Thursday Night Football for the 2022-23 NFL regular season, which may continue to be the case tonight. We go to Charlotte, North Carolina, where we will have an NFC South duel with heavy implications for the divisional race (no, really) between the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons.Β

Although this game may be shaping up to be a rough watch, sometimes those can be the best to wager on. For new users at FanDuel Sportsbook, you can wager knowing they have your back. FanDuel Sportsbook offers a No Sweat First Bet worth up to $1,000 for Thursday Night’s game! The premier sportsbook is one of the best sports betting sites in the United States – their sleek interface and easy-to-navigate mobile app make it a fun betting experience for any sports fan.

After having his best career start in Week 8 capped off with one of the best throws you’ll ever see on a game-tying Hail Mary, P.J. Walker followed that up with his worst career start, throwing ten times and finishing with nine yards. In a surprising turn of events, interim head coach Steve Wilks has elected to go back to the Temple native for another start tonight.Β

Another significant part about this welcome offer: no FanDuel promo code is required for this welcome offer.

Sometimes the ugliest games can be the most fun to watch!

The Falcons topped the Panthers in a thriller two weeks ago, 37-34 in overtime. PJ Walker had one of the crazier throws of this season to push this game to ultimate craziness:

Tonight could be a little different. Whereas that game was in the Mercedes-Benz dome, Charlotte may be calling for rainstorms:

Atlanta was able to win their first matchup without Cordarrelle Patterson, who will be in tonight’s lineup. But the Falcons will be down their first two left guards: Elijah Wilkinson and Matt Hennessy. Colby Gossett is expected to make the start there – he started in relief against the Seahawks back in Week 3, but he has never logged a start at left guard. The Panthers’ defense is better than its 28th ranking in DVOA – this unit is littered with first-rounders across the board, including in the interior D-line with Derrick Brown, who has the potential to wreck this game.

Atlanta is also expected to be without its top two starting corners, AJ Terrell and Casey Hayward. Can Walker take advantage of this depleted secondary, or will he revert to what he looked like last week?

If he looks like the latter, don’t be surprised if offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo goes back to Baker Mayfield. Mayfield returned from injury a few weeks back and has been supplanted by Walker. However, he came in relief for Walker in last week’s defeat and actually looked pretty good, throwing for 155 yards and two touchdown passes while completing 70% of his passes.

The NFC South has been an absolute mess, and tonight shouldn’t be any different. Many experts believed before the season that both teams might be contending for the first pick next April, and that has been the case for Carolina – but with a win tonight for Atlanta, they can claim sole possession of first place in the south.
