In my recent podcast with Chris Duhon, the nine-year NBA veteran gives listeners some insight into a great locker room betting story (that actually took place on the team plane) from Duhon’s one season with the Los Angeles Lakers. No spoilers — but it involves Kobe Bryant, a wager, and a triple-double.
Kobe had two triple-doubles during the 2012-13 season. Based on the details Duhon gave on the podcast, I have pegged the game in question as the April 2, 2013 home matchup versus the Dallas Mavericks. Kobe notched 23 points, 11 rebounds, and the all important 11 assists while playing a whopping 47 of the 48 total minutes in the game. Listen:
