Are you ready for some football?
Or perhaps you would prefer to be looking live.
Either way, the 2023 NFL schedule dropped Thursday night, and with it, Americaβs sportsbooks immediately posted the Week One spreads. And as might be expected, there was some immediate odds movement. If the early bird gets the worm, the early bettor gets closing line value.
The biggest moves were full 1.5-point swings. First, in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ home opener against the San Francisco 49ers, the visiting Niners opened as 1.5-point favorites. By Friday morning, they were sitting as field goal favorites at BetMGM and DraftKings.
Another notable move came in the Baltimore Ravens’ game against the Houston Texans. The home Ravens opened as 8-point favorites; they are now -9.5 at FanDuel, and the Texans are getting the same 9.5 points at Caesars Sportsbook.
Boston Bobcats?!
The Tennessee Titans opened as 3-point underdogs for their opener at New Orleans, but now bettors can get the Titans +4 at FanDuel. The Titans also won the schedule-release video sweepstakes.

The Jacksonville Jaguars opened as -3.5 favorites over the Indianapolis Colts, and they still are -3.5 point favorites, which makes a lot of sense, considering the outcome of this game was decided in a writerβs room.

A handful of other notable moves include the Buffalo Bills going from 3-point road favorites over the New York Jets to 1.5-point road favorites, the Green Bay Packers going from 1-point underdogs at the Chicago Bears to 2.5-point dogs, and the Washington Commanders commanding a 1.5-point jump, from -4.5 to -6, over the Arizona Cardinals.
Week 17 and more
While most eyes were fixated on those Week One lines, a whole other segment of the NFL betting population focused on the bottom of the schedule — specifically Week 17, when best ball championships will be held.

Why Week 17? Because when drafting, a popular method is to stack up Week 17 games in an effort to claim the top prizes, which in the case of Underdog Fantasyβs Best Ball Mania IV is a whopping $3 million.Β
And, of course, it wasnβt just Week One lines that dropped. Bettors can wager on every single game of the season right now, some 118 days before opening kickoff.
