According to a survey, 22.7 million American adults will bet on Sunday’s Super Bowl, including 1.8 million who plan to bet through illegal sportsbooks.
Michael Gaughan’s gamble – the largest Super Bowl bet ever made – provided a game within a game that’s still talked about 27 years later.
Gaughan recounts for the first time in decades what led up to his decision inviting sports betters to try and “middle” him with an incredible offer to players — at great risk to himself.
